Mathematics Advisement

This sequence of the major is designed to prepare students to work in business, government, and industry and in vocations that involve research or applications of Mathematics in the physical and social sciences.

Two course pairs from the following groups.  Course pairs must come from different groups.

Algebra Group  (MAT 236, 336) or (MAT 236, 337)

Analysis Group  (MAT 247, 345), (MAT 247, 347) or (MAT 340, 341)

Discrete Group  (MAT 260, 361), (MAT 260, 362) or (MAT 260, 363)

Statistics Group (MAT 350, 351) or (MAT 350, 378)

Electives as needed.

ENG 145 or ENG 249 or equivalent   (Does not count toward the 42 hours)

1 computer programming course from:  ACS 165 or ACS 168  (Does not count toward  the 42 hours)

Senior Portfolio          

Graduation Requirements

Complete a minimum of 120 hours, complete General Education requirements complete least

42 senior level hours, complete residency requirements, pass the writing exam, pass the

federal and state constitution tests, complete a global studies course, maintain a GPA of 2.0

in Mathematics, a GPA of 2.0 overall and senior portfolio.
